Seeing his unbroken devotion, Lord Shiva appeared, blessed him, revived his father, and gave him the title “Chandikeshwara”, making him the guardian of His abode.

In almost all Shiva temples, you will find a separate shrine for Chandikeshwara, usually located on the northern side of the sanctum.
